Velveteen/Rabbit

This morning I took some pictures of my little bunny friend.  He likes to tuck himself in between the gas meters and my garage wall.  This is the second winter he's been there, and I really like seeing him when I go out to my car in the morning.  (Yes, I'm pretty sure it's the same bunny.  Humor me.)  He is a little skittish though - as soon as I took his picture, he hopped away.

I guess nobody likes paparazzi.  Not even bunnies.

And today I'm wearing my new velveteen skirt for the first time!  So I made sure to save a couple of minutes to take some pictures.

Now, I know that I said I always wear a slip,  but today I decided to try going without.  The inside of this fabric is sticking nicely to my tights, keeping everything in place!  I felt like adding a slip would make everything all slidey - something I really can't stand, and have had to deal with a lot lately.  What remains to be seen is whether it's going to cause a lot of problems when I walk around!

  1. I LOVE it! It is just calling out for cabled coloured tights too if you ask me! And a chunky cowl...

    1. I'm not sure if Bunny has enough neck to pull off a chunky cowl . . . LOL! Just kidding (couldn't resist!) Thanks!

    1. Don't I know it - I planted strawberries a couple of years ago and they lasted about a minute! Hard to be upset with them though, because they're so cute!

    1. Thanks, Evelyn! I'm a "dragon" - so if I see one of those around, that will really be a good omen, LOL!

  7. Very cute -- bunny and skirt! I love that fabric. I love rabbits too, but I always worry when I see them in my yard because my doggy loves them even more than I do. :-/ Can't fight nature, I guess. Anyway, the skirt is adorable and would go with lots of things!

    1. Awww, poor bunnies! No dogs here, so this one is safe. I do worry about him in the really cold weather, but he seems to make it through.

  8. Oh that shirt is so bright and happy! Yet another lovely project to add to your wardrobe! Mr. Bunny is probably waiting for you to make him his own little garden!

    1. Thanks! It's kind of silly, but I always leave all my dead plants in place over the winter and don't clear them out until the new ones come in in the spring, so the bunnies and birds can munch on the seeds and any other bits they like :-)

  9. Love that skirt! Such great colors, and it matches almost anything! Maybe you can lure your bunny out with some treats?

    1. Thanks, Andrea! I'm a little afraid to feed him because I don't want him to get dependent. Also, as much as he doesn't trust me, I also don't quite trust him! He's cute, but he's still a wild animal!

  10. OMG BUNNYYYY! I am kinda obsessed with bunnies... When we went to stay on my husband's dad's farm over Christmas they had wild bunnies that would come onto their lawn. I was entranced. Best Christmas present I got! (I'm sure they shot them as soon as I left, lol. Poor bunnies)..
And your skirt looks great also.
    But bunnies!! :D

    1. I used to have way more bunnies at my old house (in the suburbs, with a real yard!). It was SO fun to watch the babies hopping around and jumping over each other in the spring! I never see that here, just this one bunny.

  14. Cute bunny! Love the skirt and what I really want to know is did it work without the slip? Or were you fighting with it when you were walking?

    1. I didn't end up doing as much walking that day as I'd thought I would because my plans changed at the last minute, but just walking around the house, it was OK. The inside of the pleat stuck a little bit to my tights when I went up stairs, but other than that it didn't bother me.

  15. How funny you have this wild bunny abtour your area. Is that common?
Your new skirt is great. It's so cute how you always have a cute top to pair it with.

    1. I think it must be pretty common. I've seen them in other parts of the city as well.

When I'm making something new, I'm almost always thinking about how it will go with the other things I already have, so I end up being able to make a lot of outfits!
